Archetype Mini Presentation
As a class, (so you need to work as an entire class) you all need to identify archetypes in the Odyssey. Each person will cover an archetype, either character, situational, or symbolic. Identify the archetype in the story. The class will make 3 Power Points for each type of archetype, one power point for character archetypes, one for situational, one for symbolic. Divide the archetypes among yourselves so that each person has one archetype and no one in the class has the same one. There are 30-34 of you, everyone should have their own archetype. If you see a person struggling, help them out to find one. You will be graded on content and participation. Your slide should be simple, have the archetype and how the archetype pertains to the story, for example,
The Hero: Odysseus
The Hero: Definition
Odysseus is the hero in this story because...
Also add a visual. Each person will have their own slide to explain to myself and the class on Friday, May 12th. Please go in the order of the archetypes as we have on the chart that you did in the beginning of the Odyssey. Scroll down if you forgot the archetypes. Someone submit the 3 presentations to me by the end of the school day Thursday so we can quickly start presenting on Friday.

You will be working on a Mythology project in groups of 3 or less. You will read a story from Mythology by Edith Hamilton. You may pick whichever story, but you must make sure no one else in the class is doing the same one. No one will have the same story. Read the story with your group. You will be creating a Powerpoint presentation to teach the class about your particular story. Presentations must be at least 3-5 minutes long. You may include short videos, nothing more than a minute of your presentation. In your presentation, you must include, a description of the Greek gods or goddesses main characters, a summary of the actual story, an explanation of what this myth shows about Greek culture, and identify 3 archetypes present in the story. They can be character, situational, or symbolic archetypes. If you need more information, you may visit theoi.com to help. Please include pictures and sources in your Powerpoint. Please be ready to present on Monday, April 10th. Rubric for your presentation will be forthcoming. I have provided an example below. If there are any other questions or updates, please check up here.

Questions:
Can we do Chapter 2 The Two Great Gods of Earth?
No. Even though it is a chapter, it is only an introduction. You would either pick the story of Dionysus or Demeter.
Can we do Norse Gods?
No. Please do not pick stories after page 422.
Please make sure you are going over a STORY, not an informational text. These usually are the "chapters" with the gods and goddesses names: Demeter, Dionysus, Cupid and Psyche, The Underworld, Gods of the Waters, Europa, etc. If you are not sure please ask.
The only sources you may use for this project are theoi.com, pantheon.org, history.com, and Mythology by Edith Hamilton. These are credible sources.
This may help you out a bit. :)
